The Lagos State Police Spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said that two suspects including the owner of the school have been arrested in connection with the death.

According to residents, the building had no pillars, just stacked blocks.

They also noted that the building was not well-structured at all; there was no wiring, no pillar, and nothing to hold the building together and that was why it fell easily.

One of the victims is said to have been buried immediately after the incident in accordance with Islamic rights.
