TRADERS, OKADA RIDERS CLASH IN ABUJA, FIVE KILLED

Five persons have been reportedly killed and houses set on fire in a clash that ensued between traders and commercial motorcyclists in Abuja.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at Dei Dei, a community in  Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It was reported that an accident involving an okada man led to the clash in the community.

Crisis broke out after a trailer allegedly crushed a woman to death when she fell from a commercial motorbike.

The traders were said to have attacked the Okada rider, whom they blamed for recklessness which led to the death of the passenger.

The okada rider’s colleagues reportedly moved to rescue him from the attackers and the situation degenerated afterward.

It was gathered that security operatives have moved to the scene to prevent further violence.
