The Nigeria national women’s team, Super Falcons rose to 39th position in the latest FIFA ranking released by the world football governing body on Friday.
The 11 times African champions was ranked 41st in the world in December 2021 but soared to 39th having completed a double over the Lady Elephants of Cote d’ Ivoire in February to secure qualification for the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
However, Nigeria retains her top spot in Africa, Cameroon is 2nd but sits 51st in the world, Ghana occupies 3rd on the continent but 56th in global rating while South Africa is ranked 4th in Africa and 57th in the world.
Meanwhile, USA maintains her 1st spot in global ranking, Sweden also retain her 2nd position on the rating, France moved to 3rd, Germany slipped to 4th while Netherlands is ranked 5th in the latest FIFA Women’s Ranking.
