“State Of Nigeria Does Not Reflect The Buhari I Knew” –Bakare

In his Easter message titled, ‘The Conspicuous Handwriting on the Wall,’ the Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare has said Nigeria was in a state of emergency, adding that her health was in danger.

Pastor Bakare who was President Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 Presidential election, recalled how the President, who contested on the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change, broke down in tears at a Press Conference because of his passion for Nigeria.

He recalled President Buhari’s declaration to dedicate the remainder of his life to fighting for the people of Nigeria.

The Cleric who traced the history of the formation of the All Progressives Congress, however said the situation in Nigeria was not the dream both he and Buhari had for the country.

Pastor Bakare said he is compelled to speak because the legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari is in grave danger of being confined to an unsavoury side of history, adding that Nigeria is in a state of emergency.

He described Nigeria as being in the intensive care unit of the universe, as the nation was in a critical state, with its survival hanging in the balance.

He said among others, the aim of his address was to ensure that the President does not fall victim to what is historically described, especially in American politics, as the ‘second-term curse.’
