The Nigerian Senate has ruled out the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari over the current state of the Nation.
The Senate dedicated most of the day’s plenary to issues of insecurity across the land.
This followed a motion by Senator Sani Musa on the urgent need to halt the activities of terrorists in some Communities in Niger State.
Senator Musa however submitted that initiating impeachment proceedings against the President would only amount to creating another round of crisis, capable of heating up the already tensed polity.
Most of the Senators who participated in the debate also expressed concern that in spite of numerous measures taken by the National Assembly to support the Government, insecurity has continued to linger.
