SCHOOLS’ SECURITY: OYO GOVT READS RIOT ACT TO TROUBLEMAKERS

Oyo State Government has strongly condemned the rampant unrest of students and the invasion of public schools by hoodlums in some areas in Ibadan.

The condemnation came as a result of clashes between students and hoodlums especially in Orita-Aperin, Agugu and Aremo axis of Ibadan South East and North East Local Government Areas which led to injuries on students and teachers as well as destruction of school properties.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu-Raheem at a meeting held with ministry officials and principals of public secondary schools, said government would not hesitate to revoke right of occupancy of the owners of vacant plots of land and buildings that serve as hideout for hoodlums and criminals.

Barrister Abdu-Raheem assured of the present government’s zero tolerance for thuggery and hooliganism in schools.
