A set of Officers at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) whose appointments were terminated by the immediate past administration in the State have been recalled after almost 4 years.
This restoration again fulfills one of the electioneering promises of the State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, to ensure that justice prevails in the State.
Addressing the recalled Officers on Thursday, January 30, 2020, the Executive Chairman of the BCOS, Prince Dotun Oyelade, noted that the Governor, on hearing about the disengagement in February 2019 during the Electioneering campaign, was pained for the unjustified disengagement of the Career Officers, adding that his Excellency’s promise to solve the puzzle is today fulfilled.
According to Prince Oyelade, this is a veritable template for the recalled Officers to know that the present administration will not let injustice prevail forever, adding that the present administration plans to get on with this as ‘we move along towards 2023’.
He congratulated the Officers on behalf of the State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, adding that the Governor expects them to get to work immediately without any kind of disruption to the system presently on ground; he noted that what is expected is a total cooperation from those on ground and the recalled Officers so that the projects of the BCOS can move forward unabated.
The BCOS Executive Chairman appealed to the Officers to add value and make a difference immediately, noting that what will speak for them is how they have managed to mesh into the system they left 4 years ago and that would be a proffered test on their administrative competence which is already known.
He noted that the Corporation’s signals have been expanded such that all the nooks and crannies of the State are listening to the Station clearly on Radio, adding that the Governor has promised to extend the Corporation’s Television viewership all over the State by the last quarter of the year 2020.
The recalled personnel include Mr Oyeboade Oyewole of the News and Current Affairs Department; Mr Peter Ajayi of the Commercial Services Department, his counterpart in the Administration and Supplies Department, Mr Segun Lawale and Engr Akinniyi Akinlabi of the Engineering Department and Mr Ademola Adeniyi of the Programmes Department.
It would be recalled that the then administration led by Senator Abiola Ajimobi on February 25, 2016, terminated the appointment of the recalled Officers for unjustified reasons.
