The Executive Chairman, Water Corporation of Oyo State, Dr Adebayo Adepoju, has promised the people of Ibarapa East Local
Government that there will be constant portable water supply in the area soonest.
Dr Adepoju disclosed this during the facility tour embarked upon by the Board members of the Corporation to the Opeki Dam in Eruwa.
Addressing BCOS News on the situation of the Dam which supplies water to Eruwa, Lanlate, Igbo Ora, Idere among others, the
Corporation’s Chairman, Dr Adepoju, said the visit was part of the efforts of the Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to revive
constant supply of portable water to residents of the State.
The Ibarapa District Manager, Water Corporation of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseye Oladipo, had earlier pointed out the challenges at the facility including encroachment of the Water by seaweed, burglary of the facility by herders, leakages, faulty equipment among others.
The team thereafter visited the Executive Chairman, Ibarapa East Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Obalowo and his counterpart in Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Adeoye Oloyede, to synergize on ways to ensure that the people of the Local Government enjoy constant portable water supply.
