Gov. Seyi Makinde has promised to increase the Internally Generated Revenue of Oyo State with an increase in taxation.
Speaking at the Oyo State Tax Summit held at Ogunlesi Hall UCH Ibadan, Gov. Makinde rolled out the strategy which his administration will employ to achieve an overhaul increase in internally generated revenue of the state.
He said: Our plans to increase the internally generated revenue of Oyo State without an increase in taxes stands on four legs.
One, a thorough review of the current IGR process and management in the state.
Two, expanding the tax base.
Three, look for new sources of revenue, and four, being aggressive and innovative in the mode of revenue collection.”
Governor Makinde spoke on the internally Generated Roadmap and Economic Prosperity of Oyo state.
Present at the Summit were the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Egnr Rauf Olaniyan, Members of the State Executive council and Relevant Stakeholders.
