The lawmaker representing Ibadan South East State Constituency II at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Segun Popoola has died at the age of 46.

Popoola was confirmed dead on Tuesday night at the University College Hospital, (UCH) Ibadan after suffering from Liver related disease.

Before his death, arrangements were about to be concluded by his colleagues and the state government on moving him abroad for surgery but died even before his departure for medical care abroad.

The lawmaker who was elected under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, was among the lawmakers that signed the allegations notice against the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan.

He was also the candidate of the party for the 2023 general elections.

Until his death, he was the Chairman of, the Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters.
