All the Oyo State Muslim Faithfuls on holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia have landed safely in Mecca for continuation of the observance of Hajj rites.
The pilgrims from Oyo State arrived Mecca in batches, with the third batch arriving on Monday.
The first and second batches had arrived earlier while the last batch arrived Mecca directly from Nigeria on Tuesday.
The pilgrims, dressed in their Umrah regalia, on Tuesday visited Islam’s holiest site, Kaaba for supplications and other religious pieties.
The pilgrims prayed for the success of Governor Seyi Makinde administration as well as for peace and progress of Oyo State and Nigeria, and for the general well being of the peoples of the State and the country in general.
On Friday, the pilgrims from Oyo State are expected to join their counterparts from other parts of the world to climb Mount Arafat, an exercise considered as one of the most important of Hajj rites.
