 Federal Government Approves ₦20.1B For Purchase Of Customs Equipment

The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved 20.1 billion naira for the acquisition of various operational equipment for the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS).

Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed disclosed this to State House Correspondents on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, after the week’s virtual Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Minister further said that Council also approved the sum of ₦539, 277, 673 for construction of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) building at the Ilupeju Medium and Small Taxpayers’ Office.

On the contracts approved for the Customs Service, it was gathered that a total of 427 Operational Vehicles and nine assorted gunboats were all approved.

Also addressing State House Correspondents after the meeting, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said Council approved a project for the extension of the University of Ibadan’s library at the sum of ₦532 million.
