OYO MONARCHS MOURN, AS ASEYIN JOINS ANCESTORS AT 62

The people of Iseyin in Oyo state have been thrown into sudden mourning on Sunday, July 24, over the demise of the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdulganiyu Salawudeen, Ologunebi Ajinese 1.

The family of the departed Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba AbdulGaniyu Salawudeen, announced his departure in a statement signed by Secretary of the Aseyin Royal Family, Prince Femi Olalere.

The statement reads, “the entire Aseyin Royal Family regrets to announce the transition of our father and Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Dr. Abdulganiy Salawudeen Adekunle Oloogunebi Ajinese 1, which happened on the wee hours of Sunday, the 24th July, 2022 after a protracted illness.

“Oba Adekunle, whose demise came after spending sixty-two (62) years on earth and fifteen (15) years on the throne will be buried on Monday 25th July, 2022.

“The entire Aseyin Royal family appreciates the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy, Mr. Bayo Lawal for their support during his illness. God Almighty will continue to bless and see them through”.

Meanwhile, in his condolence message, the Olugbon of Orile- Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao and the Vice-Chairman, Oyo state Council of traditional rulers expressed shock over the transition of Aseyin of Iseyin.

The monarch, in a statement personally signed stated: “The death Of Aseyin Of Iseyin, Oba Abdul Ganiyu Adekunle Salau got to me suddenly. This is another great loss to Oyo State Obas Council and Chiefs.

“He served his people whole heartedly and selfless. We all in the traditional council in Oyo State will missed him dearly.

“I pray God almighty comfort and console his family and the entire oyo state.” He prayed.
