In the Broadcast marking his first one year in Office, Governor Seyi Makinde has said instead of seeing Coronavirus as a setback, the Oyo State Government has leveraged on it to improve the State’s healthcare system.
The Governor said his administration in collaboration with the Virology Department, University of Ibadan, has set up a Diagnostic Centre which was approved by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control to test for Coronavirus.
He noted that his Government has also upgraded facilities at Olodo into an Infectious Disease Research and Treatment Centre.
According to Governor Seyi Makinde, instead of spending money on temporary Isolation Centres that will serve little or no purpose outside this pandemic, hid administration chose to do something permanent.
To this end, he said Government has renovated and equipped General Hospitals and Primary Health Care Facilities, among others.
