OSU Rejects U-16 Admitted Students, Offers Refund Of Fees

The Management of Osun State University, Osogbo, has directed all newly admitted Students yet to attain age 16 as of the time of admission to either defer the offer, or demand a refund of School fees.

It was gathered that over 100 Students that had initially been offered admission by the Institution for the 2020/2021 Academic Session were told to defer the offer or take back already paid school fees because they were below the age of 16.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr Ademola Adesoji, quoted the Vice Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola as saying that the Institution would not compromise its admission policy on under-aged Students.

Mr Adesoji referred to the 2020 Brochure for UTME which states that a candidate must have attained the age of 16 or would have done so by the first day of October in the year of his/her candidature.

The Institution also dismissed claims of increase in School fees, saying the University had not increased its School fees since 2017.
