The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, arrived the ward 2, Unit 9, in Akure South Local Government area to cast his vote.
BCOS Reporter, Abioye Ayorinde, covering the election in Ondo State, noted that after checking the PDP Governorship aspirant on the pasted voters list, he joined the queque refusing any offer of preferential treatment.
The PDP Governorship candidate who was to vote alongside his wife, also stayed under a shed during the fifteen minutes heavy downpour that ensued.
When it was his turn to cast his vote, the cardreader could not read the aspirant’s fingerprint, but the issue was later resolved while he performed his right.
There was a large turnout of voters at various polling centres in Ondo stayte.
In places monitored by BCOS, COVID-19 protocols was not strictly observed as many voters without facemasks were allowed to vote.
Our crew also observed that physically challenge people were the the first set of people to vote, as security situation remains tight within town and all pollling centres.
