The Omituntun Free Health Mission has commenced Ophthalmology Operation in Saki General Hospital, following procurement of new surgical microscope by Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, purposely for the free health mission.
At the State Hospital, Saki, patients with eye problems including glaucoma, cataracts top the highest numbers of cases while surgery hernias for both men and women were also operated and children paediatric also undergone Surgical Operations.
A commercial Motorcycle, Pa Sikiru Aderibigbe, in his 60s was injured in his right eye when hitted by a ball, and had been hustling to get ₦40,000 but could not gather the money.
Speaking on the free health mission, the Coordinator, Doctor Wale Falana, who is also the State Director, Secondary Health Care stated that the high Sight case recorded during last year free health mission prompt the state government to bought surgical microscope purposely for the programme.
Dr Wale Falana stated that So far over 100 patients have undergone hernia surgical operation, over 300 were given eye glasses while breast lumps also undergone successful Operation.
