Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun has explained that the Omituntun Festival of arts and culture is meant to reawaken the State’s potentials in arts and culture.
The Festival will also encourage the unveiling of new talents in the Creative Arts.
Dr Olatunbosun stated these shortly after addressing participants at the finals of the Omituntun Festivals of arts and culture held at the Cultural Centre, Mokola Hill, Ibadan.
The festival featured music, song and dance, masquerade display, ayo olopon, and traditional poetry rendition with participants drawn from the Local Government areas and Local Council Development Areas across the State.
The Commissioner revealed that the festival which was last held eleven years ago was revived to provide further opportunities for young people to develop their artistic and creative potentials.
The Omititun festival of arts and culture is expected to hold annually.
