Members of Oyo state, African Democratic Congress (ADC) who are currently serving under the present administration in the state, have defected to the state ruling party, Peoples’ Democratic Party ( PDP).
The three Commissioners who defected include, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun (Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism), Adebisi (Commissioner For Agric) and Barrister Seun Asamu (Commissioner for Energy).
Their defection to PDP was officially made known during a press conference, held at Moremi street, Bodija area Ibadan.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees at Moremi street, Bodija, Ibadan, Dr Olatunbosun stated that other defectors include, special advisers to the Governor, elected vice-chairmen at local governments, elected councillors and Supervisory councillors.
According to him, the defectors switched loyalty to PDP because of the developmental strides of the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration in the state.
Dr Olatunbosun who expressed optimism that the party would use their structure to advance the chances of Governor Seyi Makinde
especially his second term bid, disclosed that those who have defected were Political office holders and political functionaries currently serving under the present administration.
He however stressed that the ADC party structure remains intact in the state.
It will be recalled that Members of ADC in the state had a coalition agreement with the state PDP prior to 2019 Election.
