The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams has called on the Yoruba speaking States of South-West Nigeria to come up with new initiatives that would promote the Yoruba Cultural Heritage.
He said such initiatives would help boost the development potentials of Yoruba land.
Iba Gani Adams spoke at the end of the Omituntun Pacesetter Festival of Arts and Culture held in Ibadan.
He commended the State Government for the organizing the Festival which he described as remarkable.
The Odua Peoples’ Congress Leader further noted that any society that fails to protect its cultural heritage runs the risk of losing its cherished identity.
The State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun had earlier said the Festival was created as a means of stopping the decline of Yoruba Culture and heritage and unveiling new talents in the Yoruba Creative Arts
