There is every tendency for an individual or a Corporate Organisation to be corrupt if Stakeholders involved are not determined to be accountable and transparent.
This was part of the submissions of the Registrar and Chief Executive, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, while featuring on the BCOS Television Breakfast programme, AM120.
Speaking on the sum of billions of naira being remitted into the coffers of the Government since his appointment as JAMB Registrar, Prof. Oloyede pointed out that himself and other Officials of the examination body had, since inception, expressed determination to be transparent, particularly as far as the revenue of the Organisation was concerned.
According to him, it was the huge remittances that encouraged the Federal Government to reduce the JAMB Application Form Fee to 3,000 naira from 5,000 naira.
On the possibility of further reduction of JAMB Application Fee, Prof. Oloyede, explained that officials of the Organisation had gone round to other examinations bodies across the world, saying there was no Country, even in West Africa, where Application Fee was as low as that of the JAMB.
He, however, did not rule out the intervention of the Government in this regard.
