A resident of Iraye in the Modakeke area of Osun State, identified as Sunday has reportedly shot himself accidentally.

Although the circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear,

It was reported that Sunday, who happens to be a PDP member shot himself accidentally while celebrating the victory of the party in the just concluded election

Contrary to the report, another source in Iraye who pleaded anonymity said that Sunday was not celebrating PDP victory as claimed when the incident happened.

It was also rumoured that Sunday is an operative of Osun Amotekun Corps and passed on after he was rushed to a private hospital in Ile-Ife.

However, the Osun state Amotekun Corps Field Commander, Amitolu Shittu, said the victim was not a member of the organisation

“He is not an operative of Amotekun. And from our findings, he is not dead. But he shot himself and was rushed to a private hospital in Ile-Ife.”
