Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has said that his administration would continue to leverage on comparative cost of the state to provide for the needs of the people.
The Governor made this known at the official commissioning of Omititun bus mass transit pilot scheme and bus terminals at Ojoo and Challenge areas in Ibadan.
He said it was high time Ibadan, the state capital needed standard transportation system by virtue of its geographical location.
He explained further that the present administration in the state has always relied on science, data and logic to provide developmental project that would improve the economy of the state.
The two commissioned Bus terminals were sited on large square meters land space equipped with Intelligent Transport system (ITS), fully air-conditioned terminal, food courts, shops, ATM gallery, free WiFi while on board the Omituntun Bus, controlled shades among others.
The Bus terminals also has a large landmass for buses to park and load, large walk way for passengers, street lightning, rest rooms, control tower to monitor activities with adequate exits.
Speaking to BCOS News on the terminals, the state Commissioner for Works Prof. Dahud Sangodoyin stated that the project will compete favourably with any terminal in the world.
On the unveiled Omi Tuntun Bus Mass transit the Chairman of the pace setter transportation, Mr. Dare Adeleke said the Buses are game changing in the transportation system of the state Capital.
The Former first lady of Oyo State Chief Mutiat Ladoja and the Chairman of Akinyele local Government, Taoheed Jimoh saluted Governor Makinde for the massive project.
They added that the project will aid in job creation and ease transportation of many residents of Ibadan metropolis.
