As Lassa Fever continues to ravage some States in Nigeria, the people of Oyo State have been told to cooperate with health workers in preventing the disease from spreading to the State.
Featuring on Oluyole F.M Radio discussion programme, Breakfast Fiesta, on Monday, February 3, 2020, Dr Olukemi Adekanmbi of the Infectious Disease Unit, Department of Medicine, University College Hospital, Ibadan, advised people to stay away from rodents which transmit Lassa Fever.
Dr Adekanmbi explained that direct contact with urine, faeces and blood of rodents, as well as infected persons can bring a man down with the disease.
According to her, symptoms of the disease include fever, headache, nausea, blood vomiting and bleeding in some parts of the body.
Dr Adekanmbi advised people who have any of these symptoms to quickly go to the nearest hospital for prompt treatment.
