 Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accidents Claim One Life

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun, Mr Clement Oladele, has disclosed that one person was confirmed dead and several others injured in two separate accidents on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday.

Mr Oladele, in a statement on Monday in Abeokuta said  the first crash involving two male adults and one female adult occurred about 7am around Isaara, near Ogere on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

According to the FRSC boss, the driver of a Toyota bus marked AG 346 XV.drove under the influence of alcohol in excessive speed, which led to loss of control.

The sector commander said the second crash which involved a Mazda E2200 bus marked WWD 89 XB occurred about 11:50am on Sunday, around Fidiwo, near Ogunmakin on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

He said the driver had drove in excessive speed and crashed the bus on a barrier after it lost control.

The bus had conveyed eight people six male adults, one female adult and one male child. All persons sustained injuries, while one male adult died in the accident.

According to the Sector Commander, all the injured victims were rescued and taken to Hospital, while the corpse was deposited at the mortuary.
