One person has been confirmed dead with about 21 injured in an early Monday morning crash involving a bus and a truck at Nipco filling station, Mowe, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Disclosing the incident, the Ogun State FRSC commander, Ahmed Umar said that the crash occurred at about 5:35 a.m on Monday.

Speaking further, he said the incident was caused by a speeding truck driver who lost control and rammed into the stationary bus.

The two vehicles, however, had no registration numbers.

“The truck driver rammed into the stationary bus and killed the driver of the bus who was under the bus trying to rectify some faults discovered from the vehicle. The bus was going outward Lagos to the eastern part of the country before it developed (a) fault,” Umar said.

Umar also confirmed that the injured victims had been taken to Famobis Hospital in Mowe, and the deceased were deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
