The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has reported 1,483 new cases of the Coronavirus disease.
According to the Nation’s Disease Control Agency in an early-Morning tweet on Saturday, January 23, 2021, the data did not include new cases from Lagos State, which is the country’s epicentre for the virus.
According to NCDC, five deaths were also recorded on Friday, January 22, 2021.
To date, the country has confirmed 118,138 cases of the virus, with 94,150 and a total death toll of 1,490.
Kaduna State topped the table of States with new cases on Friday with 545 infections while the FCT recorded 235 cases.
Other regions with new cases include Plateau State (127), Nasarawa State (80), Oyo State (72), Delta State (65), Rivers State (64), Kano State (46), Ogun State (46), Bayelsa State (30), Gombe Stare (30), Abia State (28), Osun State (27), Edo State (25), Ondo State (14), Sokoto State (12), Zamfara State (10), Bauchi State (8), Imo State (5), Jigawa State (4), Ekiti State (4), Borno State (4) and Niger State (2).
Meanwhile, the NCDC said it made an error in reporting Thursday’s cases, stating that: “Yesterday, we erroneously reported one new case, instead of three new cases for Zamfara State.”
