The organised labour movement has threatened to hold a one-day nationwide protest to call the attention of the government to the country’s security challenges, the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the unending energy crisis.

The president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr Ayuba Wabba and the President of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Mr Ambali Olatunji made this known at two different conferences in Abuja.

Wabba expressed sadness over the continued closure of the country’s tertiary institutions due to unresolved labour disputes between the Federal Government and unions in the sector.
