The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has scheduled Monday May 16 for commencement of the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The Head of National Office, Mr Patrick Areghan who disclosed this at a briefing on Monday, noted that the examination would end on June 23rd 2022.
He said WAEC has reverted to its former calendar, with May/June for the conduct of this year’s examinations, noting that it was a move that showed recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recall that in the heat of the Covid-19 pandemic, WAEC shifted the date of WASSCE to two months after the normal date, that is from August to September.
According to him, the significance of reverting to May/June calendar is that the WAEC and the some member States, have now again found a common ground in respect of their academic calendars.
