An International Boxing Promoter, Ben Gray has predicted a KnockOut victory for Anthony Joshua, when he trade knuckles tonight with his challenger Kubrat Pulev in London.
Ben Gray, who promotes Nigerian boxer Larry Ekundayo, made this prediction while featuring on BCOS TV flagship Sports Programme, Saturday Breakfast Sports Show, anchored by Boluwaji Ogunmola.
When asked by Boluwaji Ogunmola what he thinks about the bout, Gray said “at yesterday’s weigh in, the two boxers came in light, and this indicates that both of them will want to dance around in the ring, I think we will have a good fight for a couple of rounds.
“AJ might use the first few rounds of the bout to test the strength of his opponent. And the from round three through to six, AJ might out-punch Pulev. I think we are going to see an Anthony Joshua knock out Pulev,”, Gray predicted
With the COVID-19 pandemic taking its toll on global sporting activities, just 1,000 lucky fans are expected to be allowed into the arena to watch Joshua defend his three Heavyweight titles against Pulev, a move Ben believes will not affect the performance of the Olympic gold medalist.
“There will be a thousand fans there, to cheer AJ, I think it’s good to have fans back, not the usual 80,000, AJ is used to. I believe Joshua is a very adaptable young man , he won’t be affected. He could fight in front of no one. It won’t affect him”, the international promoter assured.
Speaking on the fitness level of AJ, Gray confirmed that the British boxer of Nigerian origin is in good shape for tonight’s fight.
“Larry Ekundayo has been training alongside AJ, he tells me that he is in a really good shape, he is a top professional, always in good shape. Since he lost to Ruiz he’s stepped up a notch and I’m expecting to see a polished AJ tonight”, the boxing promoter said.
The Briton returns to the ring for the first time, since he outpointed Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia to regain his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles he lost to the same opponent at MSG arena in June 2019.
A win tonight for AJ will pave way for him to battle it out with his compatriot Tyson Fury in a unification fight.
