 Imo Senatorial Candidate Shooting: NSCDC Speaks On Incident

The Commandant of the Imo State Nigeria Security and Civil Service Defence Corps, NSCDC, Mr Raji Ibrahim, has issued a query to a member of the Civil Defence, who allegedly shot dead a 2019 Action Alliance Senatorial candidate, Mr Ndubuisi Emenike, in Imo State.

The NSCDC State Commandant who disclosed this on Monday, January 27, 2020, while reacting to the incident that triggered a public outcry said the query has been written and waiting to be handed over to the suspect immediately he is released from the Police custody, noting that NSCDC does not accept accidental discharge in an issue like this.

The State NSCDC Boss opined that the suspect was clearing the road when his rifle was hit by another person and the bullet went out to hit Mr Emenike.

He noted that “We the NSCDC sympathize with the family and Imolites, pleading that the people of Imo remain calm and let peace reign.

It would be recalled that Mr Emenike was shot on Saturday, January 25, 2020, during the celebration of the victory of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Miriam Onuoha, at the just concluded Okigwe North rerun election.
