Governments at Federal and State levels have been called upon to initiate modern means of preserving artefacts and the Nation’s cultural heritage.
The Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi, Ilugbemidepo the third, made the call during the celebration of ‘Beere festival’ also known as “Ọdún Oko”, in his Palace.
Oke Ogun FM Reporter, Oyefeso Olaitan, who covered the event reports that the Okere’s Palace was agog with jubilation as indigenes of the Town trooped to the Palace in different attires to grace the historic occasion.
The Monarch expressed concern that the Custom and Arts of different ethnic groups in Nigeria are going into extinction due to neglect, hence, the need for people to embrace their tradition with pride.
Beere Festival is celebrated annually in Saki to mark the beginning of the new planting season.
