The office of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Makurdi, Benue State capital, has been gutted by fire in the early hours of Thursday.
According to reports, the inferno started from the fuel dome of the bank located at the Old GRA Area of Makurdi but was brought under control, preventing it from spreading to the main building.
The Director of Benue State Fire Service, Donald Ikyaaza, when contacted, confirmed the report and said that he received a distress call about the fire incident and promptly deployed his men to the scene.
Ikyaaza said that the situation has however been made calm, as the fire has been subdued.
