Fresh facts have continued to emerge as the case involving the owner of Hilton Hotel and Resort, Dr Ramon Adedoyin and six of his workers continues at the Osun State High Court, Osogbo.
The defendants were conveyed in Black Maria to the court premises at 9.25 am.
The business of the day started with the first witness of the day, Fatai Adebowale, an Environmental Health Officer with the Osun State Government who told the Osun State High Court sitting that the deceased, Timothy Adegoke, was buried by the roadside due to the level of body decomposition.
Adebowale who entered the witness box stated that he was contacted by the Ile-Ife Divisional Police Officer who informed him of the discovery of the lifeless body of a pauper along Ede road on the 8th of Nov 2021
The Environmental Officer told the Judge that after securing approval from the Ife Central Local Government Chairman, his team arrived the scene but could not succeed with total removal due to the level of decomposition on the body.
He further disclosed that soft copies of the pictorial evidence of the burial were presented to the Local Government Chairman and later met with policemen from force headquarters
He said he used his android phone because of the safety and sensitivity of the exercise.
While Counsel to the Prosecution, Mathew Omosun asked the witness to tender the recording as evidence before the court, Defence Counsel opposed it on the ground that the android phone of the witness could not be taken as exhibit according to Section 122 of the judicial law.
