In preparation for Saturday’s election in Ekiti State, The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 9,747 officers for the polls.
The Assistant Commandant General, Operations, Muhammed Lawal Haruna said this while addressing the officers at the command headquarters, Ikere road, Ado Ekiti.
He said intelligent officers have been on ground for the past four weeks while officers from specialized units such a SWAT, CDRNE, Rapid response squad,Female squad, Anti Vandals are also drafted for the election.
Mohammed Lawal Haruna reminded the officers that their job is not for election alone but also to protect critical infrastructure.
He also charged the officers drawn from Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Edo, Kogi and other states to be professional in the discharge of their duties.
