A counselling psychologist, Dr. (Mrs) Olubanke Olaojo, has enjoined singles not to prepare for wedding ceremonies alone but rather, good and solid marriages.
Dr Olaojo said this while featuring as a guest on BCOS live TV programme in Yoruba Language, LOTUN LOTUN.
Discussing the topic, “IWA IPA NINU IDILE”, the guest said today, many young people focus on the wedding ceremony to the detriment of a sustainable marital union. Hence, it is important to take time and know who one is going into a union with.
Dr Olaojo who is also the Coordinator, Counselling Centre, Federal College of Education SP, Oyo, asserted that most marriages suffer violence because there is no more love but infatuation.
She also opined that the culture of having marriage intermediaries known as alarina should be embraced in these modern times to redeem homes from collapse.
Parents were equally charged to give their male children moral education in a bid to restore values in society.
