 COVID-19:Makinde Shuts Schools, Sets Up Emergency Centres

As part of measures to curb the spread of coronavirus also known as COVID-19, Oyo State Government has ordered closure of Schools with immediate effect till April.

The State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde stated this on Friday, March 20, 2020, while briefing Journalists at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.

The Governor also stated that the ongoing free Health Mission, employment verification exercise and some other Government functions have been suspended till further notice.

Governor Makinde disclosed that the three suspected coronavirus cases have been tested negative; stressing that there is no case of coronavirus in Oyo State at the moment.

He revealed that an Emergency Disease Diagnostic Centre will be established within the next 72 hours.

BCOS Governors Office Correspondent, Olamiposi Ishola, reported that the Maternity Centre at Olodo will, henceforth, be used as the State Disease Infection Centre.
