Confirmation tests for two suspected cases of the Coronavirus in Oyo State have come out positive.
The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force said one of the two new cases was a 28-year-old woman who returned to Nigeria from the United Arab Emirate on March 22, 2020 while the other was a 42-year-old contact of an earlier confirmed case.
These bring the number of confirmed cases in the State to eleven, with two discharged and nine active cases.
The Task Force made these known in a statement signed on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr Taiwo Adisa.
The statement noted that the isolation process has been initiated, while contact tracing and collection of samples have commenced.
The State COVID-19 Task Force pleads with the people of the State to keep following all directives; washing their hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand sanitiser regularly, and to continue the maintanance of social distancing.
