In its bid to keep pupils up to speed in their academics during this unfortunate but compulsory closure of Schools, the Oyo State Government, through the Ministry of Education is collaborating with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo state (BCOS) to commence School On Air videos and Radio Broadcast for Secondary School students in the State.
This, in turn, will protect the young ones from idleness and the evil it is capable of penetrating into the hearts and actions of its youthful victims.
The collaborative effort to keep Schools alive on the Airwaves during the COVID-19 challenge is a collaborative effort of the State Government’s Ministry of Education, the Educational Advancement Centre and the BCOS.
School on Air will start with Mathematics at 9:15a.m on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, on Oluyole 98.5F.M; while English Language will be at 1:30p.m on same day and other subjects follow suit every Monday to Friday.
The Programme is designed to help students who are preparing for various examinations to excel, especially in the core subjects of English and Mathematics, being compulsory requirements to proceed to Higher Institutions of learning.
The lessons, after being aired on BCOS Television and Oluyole 98.5FM, can also be assessed on www.bcos.tv; BCOS TV YouTube; Oluyolefm YouTube; BCOS TV on Facebook and Oluyole 98.5 FM on Facebook; these give them an afterwatch.
Also, students can forward their questions on each subject taught to be addressed on the next edition.
All stakeholders (Teachers, Parents, Guardians and Students) are therefore called upon to take advantage of the opportunity to remain educated by watching the daily educational Broadcast .
