The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 417 fresh Coronavirus cases as the Country announced the date for the resumption of international flights.
The NCDC confirmed the new infections on Monday, August 18, 2020, in a tweet on its official handle.
The new infections were reported in 16 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, taking Nigeria’s total Coronavirus pandemic figure to 49,485.
The NCDC data showed that Lagos State had 207 new cases, the highest for the day; while Kaduna State had 44; Ondo State had 38; Abia State had 28; Anambra State had 21 and Plateau State had 20.
Bauchi State confirmed 13 fresh cases; Oyo State had 9; Ebonyi State had 9; Delta State had 7; Edo State had 7; Enugu State had 6; Niger State had 3; Gombe State had 2; while FCT, Ogun and Kano States had a case each.
Although 36,834 persons who contracted the disease have been discharged after successful treatment, 977 deaths have so far been reported from the pandemic in Nigeria.
