COVID-19: Medical Practitioners Urged Not To Rest On Their Oars

Nigerian Medical Doctors, Scientists, and Health Researchers have been urged not to rest on their oars as more dangerous variants of the COVID-19 virus continue to develop in parts of the world.

The advice was given by a Sports and Health Education Specialist, Professor Olawale Morunkola of the Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan, while featuring on the BCOS Television Breakfast Programme, AM 120.

He also charged the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, to continue to be up and doing by putting necessary control measures in strategic places, especially at the entry points of the country.

According to him, the number of infections and fatality figures coming from India are frightening.

Noting that Nigeria is fortunate enough to have the best of Scientists and Medical Doctors, Prof. Moronkola said the Federal Government should also make necessary interventions at appropriate times through adequate health funding, enlightenment and advocacy.

He advised Nigerians, who are 40 years and above to continue to observe all COVID-19 protocols and limit attendance at social functions.
