 COVID-19: FG Set To Evacuate Nigerians Home

The Federal Government has stated that Nigerians willing to return home on account of the coronavirus pandemic would be evacuated shortly.

The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who disclosed this on Friday in a statement by the spokesperson for the agency, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, said that the federal government has directed all its missions abroad to compile a list of citizens willing to return home.

Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa who explained that the directive was sequel to requests by some Nigerians stranded abroad in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, however, disclosed that the interested returnees should be prepared to pay for their flight.

She further disclosed that the prospective evacuees would be compulsorily quarantined when they return and advised interested Nigerians who are currently in nations undergoing lockdown to go online and fill the form provided on the commission’s website.
