COVID-19: Britain Starts Mandatory Self-Quarantine For Arrivals

Britain introduced a two-week quarantine on Monday, June 8, 2020, for most people arriving from abroad to try to limit the spread of the coronavirus, a measure roundly condemned by the ailing aviation sector.

The measure, which applies to both residents and visitors with some exceptions, aims to prevent a second wave of contagion from abroad, including ports.

The report states that authorities will carry out spot checks, and those found breaking the rules face a fine of up to £1,000 or even deportation.
