The Benue State Government has commenced the fumigation of public places to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
The exercise which began on Thursday from the Wurukum market, poultry section, will be extended to the Wadata, North Bank and modern markets as well as streets to safeguard the state from further spread of the virus.
Part of the public places include hospitals, markets, parks, and streets of Makurdi.
The head of the Fumigation Team and member of the State Action Committee on COVID 19, Mr Edward Amali said the exercise will last for a whole week.
He also assured residents of the state that funds have been made available for the comprehensive exercise by the state government.
