 Coronavirus: Oyo Govt Issues New Guidelines On Public Transportation

Oyo State Government has issued new guidelines on public transportation to ensure proper hygienic standards and social distancing.

The new guidelines, issued by the State Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transportation, was disclosed in a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde, Mr Taiwo Adisa, on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

The guidelines includes the provision of hand washing facilities with soap and running water by all Transport Operators and Park Managers at the entrance of their respective parks and/or garages,

Also, the Transport Operators are to provide alcohol-based sanitizers in their vehicles for the use of drivers, conductors and passengers; prohibiting standing in public mass transit buses.

The guidelines also stated that there must be a minimum of one seat interval between passengers, while Tricycles are limited to three passengers and commercial motorcycles are limited to one passenger only.
