Coronavirus: Kaduna Govt Arrests Two Clerics For Conducting Service

Kaduna State Government has arrested two Muslim Clerics for conducting congregational prayers in spite of the state government’s 24-hour curfew in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the state government who announced the arrest on Saturday via its official Twitter handle, the conducts of the clerics were in violation of the State public health preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19.

According to the statement, both clerics “Malam Aminu Umar Usman and Malam Umar Shangel, will be prosecuted”. The Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Hadiza Balarabe in a state broadcast on Thursday (26 March 2020) had announced a 24-hour curfew which will last till further notice
