Iran on Sunday announced 129 new deaths caused by the coronavirus, raising to 1,685 the official death toll in one of the worst hit countries along with Italy and China.
Iran’s Health Ministry spokesman Kianouche Jahanpour disclosed that more than 1,028 new cases had been recorded in the past 24 hours and a total of 21,638 people had now tested positive for the virus.
Globally, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 has reached 307,341 with the number of those who recovered totalling 92,383. Spain recently reported 394 new coronavirus deaths, that is, up 30 per cent in 24 hours. While Italy reported approximately 800 deaths as at Saturday and 4,825 overall. More deaths have been reported in Italy than in any other country.
