Former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki has disclosed plans by some stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to reach consensus in presenting formidable candidate to rescue Nigeria from his current state of instability.
Dr Saraki stated this when he led a delegation of some PDP Governors comprises of Sokoto State Governor Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, Bauchi state Governor, Bala Muhammed and Foremost Nigerian Banker and Economist, Mohammed Yahyatudeen, to Oyo State Government house for a consultation meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde.
The PDP Chieftain emphasized that beyond who gets the presidential ticket, the party and its leadership hierarchy has become more concern in providing solutions to the myriads of problems confronting Nigerians as a result of poor style of governance and ineptitude from the ruling party.
He equally expressed confidence that despite political intrigues across the country, the PDP would emerge stronger as a united front and present genuine leadership that would provide needed succour for Nigerians
In his reaction, Governor Seyi Makinde appreciated the consultation effort of Dr Bukola Saraki and noted that reaching a consensus was possible in the PDP just as the party arrived at a consensus at its last convention.
Earlier, the delegation held closed door meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde.
