COMMONWEALTH GAMES: LAWAL, TAIWO, OSIJO URGE YOUTHS TO TAKE SPORT AS PROFESSION

Youths have been advised to take sports as a profession which will earn them means of living.

The trio of Oyo state athletes, Rofiat Lawal, Taiwo Liadi and Osijo Taiwo, who won medals for Nigeria at the just concluded Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom, gave the advice while speaking with Bcos Sports Crew at Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan.

The elated girls who have mixed feelings while venturing into Weighlifting, said sport is the best way to take the girl child off the street.

They added that Oyo state should expect nothing but gold medals from them at the upcoming national sports festival in November 2022.

In his remark, the chairman Oyo State Sports Council, Gbenga Adewusi said the triumph by the Oyo state athletes at the Commonwealth Games shows that Governor Seyi Makinde’s policy in the sporting world is paying off.
