COMMON ENTRANCE: OYO RECORDS HIGHEST ATTENDANCE OF 175,320

175,320 pupils sat for the state screening and placement exercise into junior secondary schools across the state for the 2022/2023 academic session.

According to BCOS reporter, Gbenga Adesuyi, who monitored free exercise, this is a figure said to be higher than previous enrolments in the state.

Records state that 170,640 pupils wrote the examination in 2020/2021 while 160,755 pupils sat for the exam in the 2019/2020 academic session.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs. Christiana Abioye, said the steady increment in enrolment is not far-fetched from the free education policy of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

She charged all parents and relevant stakeholders to continually join forces with Governor Seyi Makinde, for a sustained advancement of the education system in the state.

Among the common entrance centres visited were Anwar-Ul Islam Grammar School, Eleyele, Ibadan, Army Barracks Grammar School, Letmauck Cantonment, Mokola Ibadan, Anglican Commercial Grammar School, Orita Mefa, Ibadan among others.
